My top reads for 2021
I can’t believe I read 58 books this year. The number of times that I’ve done that in my life is… zero. Zero, y’all! I‘m so happy that I got to spend my year with so many great books! The official tally was 32 Traditional & 26 Indie.
One of my personal goals is to be supportive of Indie Authors, one because I am an indie author, and two because indie authors are awesome & work so very hard to produce quality work & need our support!!! I read a lot of great indie books this year so these slots were HARD TO FILL!
Below are some of my favorite Indie, Traditional & Cozy reads from this year.
Beard Necessities - Penny Reid The perfect end to the perfect series.
With You - Jensen Kristyne I enjoyed how Jensen played with the push and pull between the two leads Theo & Brielle.
Winter’s Queen - Grace Lambert Ever wonder what happens to lethal killers in their "happily ever after?" Well... look no further! This book was so much fun.
Beard Science - Penny Reid I love nerds. I love the Winston Brothers. I couldn’t put this book down!
To all the boys I’ve loved before - Jenny Han I read this series because of the movies coming out but I enjoyed them immensely. The read is better than the show!
Group - Christie Tate I thought this memoir was so raw & honest. I couldn’t put it down.
Malibu Rising - Taylor Jenkins Reid I was so impressed with Taylors writing style. I can’t wait for her books to be turned into movies.
The Invisible Life of Addie Larue - V.E. Schwab I have never read a book like this. This book will sit with me for a very long time.
The Kiss Quotient - Helen Hoang The Kiss Quotient is smart, sexy, made me laugh, and gave me just the right amount of feels. -Christy, Goodreads
When the Night is Over - Lily Foster I got this one for free somewhere but had trouble putting it down and even got a choked up
Lord of the Manor - Megan Musgrove This book was all things warm, cozy & just plain adorable.
Drive Me Crazy - Jere Anthony What a great book full of hot chemistry, hilarious laugh-out-loud moments (that need to be made into a movie - someone gets on that asap) with a mixture of heartbreaking & tough moments.
What should I put on my list for next year?
